How to Install Monero GUI Wallet

  1. Access the official website

    Visit the official Monero website.

  2. Download the wallet

    • Click on "Downloads."
    • Select "Monero GUI Wallet."
    • Choose your operating system and download the corresponding file.
  3. Install the wallet

    • Extract the downloaded file.
    • Open the monero-wallet-gui file.
  4. Set up the wallet

    • Select the options: "Desktop entry / Yes / Continue / Advanced mode / Create a new wallet."
    • Fill in the details:
      • Wallet name: Enter your wallet's name.
      • Wallet location: Choose the location where the files will be stored.
    • Click "Next."
  5. Save recovery information

    • Copy the recovery information and store it securely.
    • Click "Next."
  6. Set your password

    • Create a strong password and click "Next."
  7. Connect to a remote node

    • Select "Connect to a remote node" and click "Next."
    • Click "Create wallet," enter your wallet password, and click "OK."
  8. Sync the wallet

    • Go to "Settings."
    • Click on "Node," then "Add remote node."
    • Search for remote nodes on Google or use ditatompel.com/remote-nodes.
    • Copy the host and port of the chosen node and paste them into the wallet settings.
    • Check the option "Mark as trusted daemon" and click "OK."
    • Wait for synchronization to complete.
  9. Check wallet files

    • After synchronization, the files will be in the directory set during installation.
    • Locate two files:
      • One with the suffix .viewonly.
      • Another with the suffix .viewonly.keys.
