This article will step you through the installation of the LiteSpeed Cache WordPress plugin on a Impreza hosting account.

Impreza websites run on LiteSpeed servers, and if you have an Ecosite Pro or Ecosite Premium account, you can take full advantage of the LiteSpeed Cache website acceleration plugin.

Note: LSCache is enabled on Ecosite Pro and Ecosite Premium accounts within 30 minutes of account creation (or upgrade). To enable on a Reseller account, please contact our Support Staff by opening a ticket in our Account Manager and let us know that you want to enable LSCache. LSCache cannot be enabled on an Ecosite Starter account.

To install the plugin:

  • Log into your WordPress admin section.

  • In the left column navigation mouse over the “Plugins” link and click the “Add New” link.

  • In the “Search plugins…” box, enter “LiteSpeed Cache.”

Once you have located the plugin, click the “Install Now” button.

When the plugin has finished installing, click the “Activate” button.

In the Plugins list, locate LiteSpeed Cache and click the “Settings” link.

Configuring LiteSpeed Cache

  • Make sure the Enable LiteSpeed Cache option is set to Enable (the background should be green).

  • Click the “Show Advanced Options” tab.

The Advanced Options are spread across several tabs. Here are some brief descriptions of the available configuration options. It isn’t necessary to make any changes here. As soon as you enable LiteSpeed Cache, it begins working and improving your website speed. The Advanced Options are available to adjust the default settings further.

Misconfiguration of some of the options can cause significant website problems, so be careful when experimenting with settings.

If you make any changes to the settings, click the “Save Changes” button.

  • [1] General – TTL (time-to-live) settings controlling how long certain content types are saved in the cache.

  • [2] Cache – settings controlling cache for special content types, such as REST API calls and login pages.

  • [3] Purge – settings for purging content from the cache. By default, the LiteSpeed Cache plugin automatically purges the cache when plugins, themes, or the WordPress core is updated.

  • [4] Excludes – settings defining the types of content that you do not want to cache.

  • [5] Optimize – CSS and javascript settings. If you make changes here, be sure to test your site to verify that it is still working correctly. Misconfiguration here can damage site functionality.

  • [8] CDN – Content Delivery Network settings.

  • [9] ESI – Edge Side Includes settings. ESI is an advanced caching technique for caching portions of pages.

  • [A] Advanced – advanced settings. If you make changes here, be sure to test your site to verify that it is still working correctly. Misconfiguration here can damage site functionality.

  • [D] Debug – debugging settings that you can use to help troubleshoot problems.

Note that Impreza does not currently support the [C] Crawler functionality.

As you can see, there are many configuration options available in the LiteSpeed Cache plugin. For a deeper dive, you can consult the LiteSpeed Cache documentation.
